About Us
Sowkhya Pain Rehab Center is an initiative of Swarga Foundation to help those suffering from mobility impairment and lower immunity. Our current program consists of two sections, Physical Therapy/ Physiotherapy and Ayurveda. Most neurological disorders have no cure in modern medicine and there is a dire need of managing the disorder while trying to live an almost normal life. While Ayurveda helps in rejuvenating the body's immunity, physical therapy enables the person to retain or improve on the current physique and mobility. This is especially critical to patients who have suffered partial paralysis due to a stroke. The quicker the therapy begins, the better the chances of making a full recovery.
The outpatient pain rehabilitation program endeavours to provide relief to people with mild to chronic pain and treat a pulled muscle or help a person who suffered a stroke recover to the fullest extent possible. We also treat patients who exhibit mild to severe spasticity, neurological pain and needing post-operative rehabilitation. The symptoms can be generally associated to a single organic cause, by bone, ligamentous or neurological causes. These are easily identified by physical examination.

Why are we offering this service and why is it essential?
Neurological disorders affect a person's nervous system and can happen to people of all age groups. Physiotherapy can help people become active after a serious neurological injury or disease. An injury to a person's brain or spinal cord may cause death of cells which control specific movements and sensations, leading to loss of function. Should a person decide to pursue decreased activity instead, they may also experience additional health problems that can include lung or heart problems, decreased independence, diabetes, and an overall reduction in their quality of life. Physical therapy can help to prevent loss of function, helping a person to remain able to perform certain activities. Many people can learn to live independently once again through therapy. Physiotherapy can be a long-term requirement and expensive.
